In the late 1800s, the world was crazy about the latest technological achievement - the bicycle. The bicycle offered not only comfort and recreation, but also a unique thrill that many had never experienced: the freedom to move.
Schwinn® - great successes in bicycle racing
In 1895, German-born mechanical engineer Ignaz Schwinn made the acquaintance of Adolph Fredrick William Arnold, a pioneer in Chicago's meatpacking industry. With Schwinn's vision and Arnold's financial support, the two founded "Arnold, Schwinn & Company," which would later become the Schwinn Bicycle Company. By 1896, there were 300 bicycle companies in the United States (101 in Chicago alone). Schwinn began its racing program. By the end of the year, Schwinn bicycles had more wins under their belt than any other bicycle company.
1911 - Motorcycles in vogue
Schwinn®
buys the Excelsior Motor Cycle Company, followed by the Henderson MotorCycle Company in 1917. This venture inspired some of Schwinn‘s most famous bicycle designs, including the Motorbike in 1920.
1930 - Quality Seal
Schwinn®
dedicates a new department to improving quality and appearance, and quickly becomes the standard of innovation in the industry. They sealed the quality in with the first appearance of the Schwinn®

1963 - The Sting-Ray ushers in a new era

1965 - Schwinn® produce home fitness
Schwinn®
brought this legendary bike technology into the home and quickly became a pioneer in home exercise equipment with the introduction of the Deluxe Exerciser hometrainer.
1978 – Schwinn® Airdyne
Schwinn®

1995 – Development of the Johnny G Spinner Pro Bike
In 1994, there was a collaboration between Schwinn®
and Jonathan Goldberg, known as Johnny G, a South African cyclist and developer of the indoor cycling program called Spinning. They developed the Johnny G Spinner by Schwinn®
, which was introduced at IHRSA in San Francisco in 1995 and received an outstanding response.
2023 – Schwinn® 590E, compact Elliptical
With a built-up length of just 147 cm, the Schwinn® Elliptical Trainer 590E is around 30% smaller than conventional elliptical trainers and at the same time offers all the important features. A natural and at the same time joint-friendly running movement is made possible by the pleasantly large stride length (51 cm) and the ergonomically favorable leg position.
