The spaces we plan for

A corporate gym has different requirements than a hotel gym or a club weights room. We plan around usage, not around a catalogue.

Companies and office buildings

Employees train before or after work, usually unsupervised and during peak hours. What matters is simple operation, safety without supervision and an equipment mix that keeps many people busy in a small space.

Hotels and wellness

The gym feeds directly into your guest ratings. Guests expect recognised brands, well maintained equipment and cardio training with entertainment. We plan so that the room works in photos and in reviews.

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation

Fine weight increments, slow start-up speeds, handrails, barrier-free access, documentable training parameters. Equipment designed for therapeutic use, not just for the fitness market.

Sports clubs and personal trainers

Maximum training density per square metre, robust construction for high frequency use, free weight area with a well thought out floor build-up.

Residential developments and senior residences

Unsupervised operation means safe equipment, clear operation and minimal upkeep. For senior residences, add low-barrier access and fall safety.

Public institutions: schools, hospitals, the military

Tender-ready documentation, standard-compliant equipment, documented maintenance and long-term spare parts availability.

Personal training studios

Robust equipment for intensive use in day-to-day coaching.

Test the equipment before you buy

At the isports showroom you can do more than look at fitness equipment: you can test it in real use and compare it. That helps you make a well founded decision for your facility.

In our showroom you can compare different models and find out:

  • Which machines suit your users
  • How much space is actually required
  • Which machines feel particularly quiet and stable

Fitness equipment for semi-professional use

Training rooms in practices, hotels or companies have different requirements than classic home gyms or fitness studios.

Professional fitness equipment has to:

  • Be robust and long-lasting
  • Be easy to operate for different user groups
  • Fit in without taking up unnecessary space
  • Run reliably with little maintenance

We help you put together an equipment selection that works in daily operation.

What does a professional gym cost

This depends on the floor area, the number of appliances and the standard of fit-out. These guide figures will give you an initial idea before we work out the figures together. Below, we’ve set out several example projects:

Basic, from CHF 15,000

Around 20 m2 with strength and cardio training options.

Standard, from CHF 50,000

Over 100 m2, cardio and strength area, flooring, mirrors. Typical for companies and hotels.

Premium, from CHF 150,000

500 m2 and above, complete strength, cardio and functional areas, brand equipment, individual design.

What your space needs to offer

Most projects fail not on budget, but on basic conditions that get checked too late. We clarify these points during the site visit.

Ceiling height

Cardio machines and multi-gyms need at least 2.35 m. Depending on body height and configuration, some machines need more.

Floor loading

A multi-gym quickly puts 400 kg onto a few square metres, and weight plates concentrate even more. Usually uncritical in basements, but in upper floors a check by a structural engineer is required.

Floor build-up and sound insulation

Falling weights transmit structure-borne noise into adjacent rooms. Depending on the intended use, heavy-duty mats, decoupled platforms or a floating structure may be required.

Ventilation

Rule of thumb: 60 to 80 m3 of fresh air per occupied training station per hour. Without adequate ventilation the room will be avoided regardless of the equipment.

Power and network

Treadmills need their own circuits, machines with screens also need a network connection or Wi-Fi. Connection points have to be where the equipment will stand, not on the opposite wall.

Space requirement

Allow around 4 to 6 m2 per machine including safety clearance and circulation space. A usable corporate gym starts at around 150 m2.

Access and transport route

Door widths, stairs and lifts determine whether a machine can reach its intended place at all.

It doesn't end with installation

A gym is a piece of plant, not furniture. Equipment that is not serviced breaks down and then stops being used. Our maintenance contract covers 1 to 3 service visits per year, safety inspection, calibration, wear parts and documented reports.

  • Service technicians in Switzerland, no waiting for technicians from abroad
  • Spare parts warehouse at our site in Lupfig AG (near Baden), common parts available from stock
  • Response time for faults: maximum 24 hours on working days
  •  Warranty: 24 months - Maintenance reports as evidence for insurers and operators
